Wherever you are on your spiritual journey this book will enlighten and uplift you.  I’ve found these words to be such a gift it has been hard to pause to fit in work or sleep or conversation or anything outside of absorbing their lessons.  Oh the joy of a 10 mile run in the wintery sunlight yesterday devouring the content on audio.  Such pleasure and exercise transformed into spiritual practice. A divine blessing!

Oprah introduces each of the 10 chapters with a personal essay. The topics delicately flow in chronological respect of Oprah’s own spiritual pathway, covering realms of Fulfilment to Grace to Forgiveness. We are blessed by the intimacy of heartfelt personal beliefs, experiences and wisdom delivered through funny, touching and deeply thought provoking conversation.  Oprah’s interviewees are esteemed thought leaders from Eckhart Tolle to Caroline Myss to Bryan Stevenson  and the views and teachings shared touch depths in any reader perhaps rarely explored.  Indeed, I was so moved by each chapter I have been inspired to order several of the authors’ books already. Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson I feel particularly compelled to. He discusses and motivates others with his devotion to reforming the US justice system to protect and restore the purity of societally condemned victims of mere circumstance.

Oprah asks questions of each author. What do you believe…? God is… What is the soul… And many more.  A few of my favourite answers are these ones:-

“The soul is the fingerprint of god that becomes the physical body. Unique in its own development and expression but filled with all the divinity that is the expression of all that is.”

“Take responsibility for the energy you bring into each space.”

“Grace is a power that comes in and transforms a moment to something better.”

I am so moved by this book I will be buying the hardback version as well (apparently beautifully embellished with photography).
